Program Description:

Bangor University in Wales is located in a small coastal city at the feet of the Snowdonia mountains, an ideal placement for those who are inspired by natural beauty. As an Oregon State exchange program, OSU students experience life and academics in Wales, while Bangor students discover Beaver Nation on the Corvallis campus. As part of the United Kingdom, you will have no problem using English to navigate daily life, but you will also have the opportunity to learn and experience Welsh. OSU students are welcomed into each of the 5 colleges of Bangor University, and past students have studied everything from "British Archaeology" to "Sharks and their Relatives." Some of Bangor's areas of excellence include the School of Social Sciences, the School of Ocean Sciences, and the School of the Environment, Natural Resources & Geography. OSU students live in flats on campus with access to a group kitchen, close to classes and the campus rec center, where resident students receive a free gym membership. Bangor is well-placed to visit other sites in the UK and Ireland-- 1.5 hours to Manchester, and 3 hours to London by bus, while Dublin is reachable by a 2-3 hour ferry ride. To read more about studying abroad at Bangor, see their Guidebook.

As an OSU exchange, you would be billed 12 credits of tuition and fees per term, a one time study abroad fee ($400), and an application fee ($50) to your OSU account.  Most forms of financial aid would still apply. Fees for on-campus housing would be paid directly to Bangor University, and students should expect to budget for additional expenses, such as meals, airfare, passport + visa, and personal travel.
